Episode 6.1
19 October 2019 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

There have been more episodes of Still Open All Hours than Open All Hours. It has all been done in a shorter space of time as well.

Roy Clarke set his word processor on autopilot some time ago after the show was resurrected as a series in 2014. It is almost the same plot each episode. Granville usually cons Cyril and Eric with a new miracle cure. Gastric tries to impress Madge. Mrs Featherstone makes a play for Granville, creepy as she is much older than him and she used to do the same with her uncle.

The start of the sixth series. Somehow it merged into Last of the Summer Wine. Granville has found a mangle and wants to run a steam pressing service. The mangle with Gastric on it goes loose on the streets. There is even a panda car with two policemen in it drinking tea.

I think Roy Clarke put his autopilot on the wrong show setting!
