This series is set on another world in the city of Lisvaletta. Here a special group of law enforcement officers, known as Seven-O, work to halt the use of a drug known as 'anthem'. It is a particularly dangerous drug; often causing users to go into 'overdrive'; effectively making them monsters. Our protagonists are veteran cop Doug and his rookie partner Kirill. As the series progresses they get closer to those behind the trade and some unexpected truths are revealed.
This was a solid series that provided plenty of laughs, especially in the lighter toned early episodes, a good sense of mystery as well as a fun blend of sci-fi and detective genres. The setting might be on another planet but most of the time it isn't hard to forget that it isn't Earth; Lisvaletta could almost be any large city... like a cross between London and New York. The characters are likeable and interesting; as the story progresses we grow to care about the various members of Seven-O. The ending is solid but hints at the possibility of a second season... if there is a second season I'll definitely watch.
These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.
