Netflix's Henry Cavill-headlined series, The Witcher, lands a second season order over a month before its premiere.

The Witcher Season 2 is a spell that’s already being woven over at Netflix over a month before the arrival of Season 1!

The second season of Netflix’s The Witcher has been officially confirmed, set to manifest with an 8-episode run, which matches the number of episodes for the show’s December-premiering inaugural season. Production on Season 2 will commence in London in early 2020, with a premiere set for fall 2021. Additionally, the show’s main cast trio – Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri – are set to return.

‘The Witcher’ Gets Early Season 2 Renewal at Netflix
Ahead of its series debut on Dec. 20, “The Witcher” has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix, the streaming service announced on Wednesday.

The second season of the Henry Cavill-led fantasy series will begin production in London early in 2020, for a planned debut in 2021, according to Netflix. Like the first season, Season 2 will also consist of eight episodes.

The Witcher” stars Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Freya Allan as Ciri. All three actors will return for Season 2.

The Witcher Series Adaptation Gets December Premiere Date - Watch Trailer

The Witcher is coming to Netflix just in time for Christmas.

The streamer has set a Friday, December 20 premiere date for the first season of the highly-anticipated series.

"Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts," reads the official logline.

"But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together."

Hugh Laurie Developing Agatha Christie Project for the BBC (Exclusive)
Hugh Laurie is working on a small-screen Agatha Christie adaptation, Variety has learned. The star of “The Night Manager” and “House” is developing a script, but which of the Queen of Crime’s books he is adapting is being kept strictly under wraps.

The project is through ITV-owned producer Mammoth Screen and is being developed for the BBC. Mammoth has made several successful Christie adaptations for the BBC, which Amazon has taken for the U.S. The latest coming down the pike is “The Pale Horse,” which was adapted by BAFTA-nominated Sarah Phelps, who won acclaim for her earlier TV version of the Christie classic “And Then There Were None.” Endeavor Content has sold those adaptations .

Laurie, who appeared in the P.G. Wodehouse adaptation “Jeeves and Wooster,” has not been confirmed to star. On screen, he parodied one of Christie’s most famous characters, Hercule Poirot, in the Spice Girls film “Spice World.

‘Dublin Murders’: BBC Sets Premiere Date For Crime Drama Picked Up By Starz

BBC One is set to premiere its Sarah Phelps-written crime drama Dublin Murders on October 14 at 9Pm.

The eight-episode series has been picked up by Starz in the U.S. and is adapted from Tana French’s first two novels in the Dublin Murder Squad crime series – In The Woods and The Likeness.

The atmospheric, psychological thriller, which was made by Euston Films, Element Pictures and Veritas Entertainment, is adapted by creator and writer Phelps, who has reimagined Agatha Christie stories And Then There Were None and The ABC Murders for the BBC.

Filmed in Belfast and Dublin, Dublin Murders stars Killian Scott (C.B. Strike) and Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful) as detectives dispatched to investigate a child’s murder, who find a community caught between old and new Ireland.

John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz Among Seven Cast in Netflix ‘Space Force’ Series Alongside Steve Carell

The upcoming Netflix comedy series “Space Force” has added seven new cast members, Variety has learned.

John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, and Diana Silvers will all appear in series regular roles, while Jimmy O. Yang, Don Lake, and Alex Sparrow have landed recurring guest star roles. They join previously announced cast member Steve Carell, who is also the show’s co-creator and executive producer. In addition, Paul King has been tapped to direct two episodes of the series, including the pilot.

The show, which was ordered straight to series in January, is described as a workplace comedy centered around the people back on Earth tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services. The Witcher Release Date Was Accidentally Leaked By Netflix

It looks like Netflix accidentally shared some information that revealed the release date of the highly anticipated fantasy series The Witcher.

Netflix shared a post on their Netherlands Twitter and Facebook accounts showing some of their upcoming shows and how many days there were before each of their release. Alongside titles like Atypical, The Crown, and Peaky Blinders there was The Witcher with 67 “nights sleep” until its release next to it. That would put the show being released on December 17th.

The Tweet has since been deleted, but not before Redanian Intelligence, a site dedicated to The Witcher series, snagged a screenshot.

Henry Cavill Discusses His Transformation Into Geralt For The Witcher

Fans seemed to go wild over the first trailer that was released during Comic-Con for Netflix’s series adaptation of The Witcher. Henry Cavill takes on the lead role of Geralt of Rivia in the series and he looks badass in the role.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cavill talked about bringing this character to life and the transformation he undergoes to become him:

"We have the description in the book, and Lauren [S. Hissrich, The Witcher's showrunner,] and I went through many conversations via email and phone before we even met for the third time, because we had a first meeting, then an audition, and then we saw each other on location. Netflix has shared a few cool photos from their upcoming series adaptation of The Witcher.
