Storyline

After years of practice, Sam is now an expert in packing. Meticulous, and with an eye for detail, Sam transforms this mundane but challenging process to a ritual and a true form of art, as the finite space of a suitcase can magically offer so many different combinations, otherwise unseen to the untrained eye. But, it is this unusual knack for taking advantage of the bag's nooks and crannies that binds him with his father, along with the vibrant memories of childhood, and the bittersweet taste of a silent but ardent affection. How much love can one cram in the negative space of recollection? Written by Nick Riganas

cold poetry
17 August 2019 | by KirpianuscusSee all my reviews

A film about relation son-father. Simple, touching, cold, precise. In same measure, a diagnosis about everyday relations from near reality and a portrait of the love in special form. For a boy- a great movie. For the subtle way to translate in image profound, defining truths. A boy, a too busy father, a suitcase and the funeral of the parent. A terrible, poetic last observation of the son. And the image of car-zipper on a huge suitcase as reflection of wise manner to give a profound message.
