A television play based on Stanislaw Lem's Sci-Fi novel "Return from the Stars". A star-ship returns to Earth after 10 years in space from a mission to the star Fomalhaut. Meanwhile, 127 years have passed on Earth due to the relativity. They find a completely new Utopian society on Earth where no violence or wars exist. But all is not that simple: to achieve this all humans must undergo a medical procedure. The story revolves around Al Bregg, a pilot on the spaceship, who struggles to find his place in this new society, which in turn considers him a dangerous man as he hasn't undergone the procedure. He faces several choices: accept everything as the new reality, become an outcast, or go back into space. Soon he meets his future wife and he makes his decision.
There will never be a paradise on earth if free and intelligent men must inhabit it. Freedom is achieved by striving for it, not by such an arrangement whereby a man should be idle in the glory of his victory. (Stanislaw Lem)
