The episode opens with two scientists talking to Goldstein. It seems they can put Komarov's thoughts in his mind and he wants to play god. In comparison Meyer is too nice as we see flashbacks of Meyer listening to Life on Mars by Bowie and being informed by Gemma that she is leaving him to work for Goldstein.
Back in Mars, Komarov is the one really in control and Irene is evolving courtesy of Komarov who has reprogrammed it.
As the crew of Ulysses lose control with Jeanne leaving the spacecraft, the soldiers from Zillion 2 arrive to take on Komarov.
I am in admiration of the concepts in this series but I do find the thug soldiers as rather two dimensional. They seem for now, no match for Komarov.
