Storyline

Following a similar premise to the previous game, Danganronpa 2 puts players in control of Hajime Hinata, an amnesiac boy who has just become one of Hope's Peak Academy's 'Ultimate' students, alongside fifteen others. The students find themselves taken to the remote tropical Jabberwock Island by their alleged teacher, a small, rabbit-like mascot named Usami, who claims it to be a simple field trip. However, things turn out to be too good to be true as Hope's Peak Academy's notorious principal, Monokuma, announces they are stuck on the island for life unless they can murder another student and get away with it. If the students can determine a murderer in a Class Trial, that culprit is executed, but if they make the wrong assumption, then the killer walks home free whilst everyone else is sentenced to death.

Keeps up well with Original
10 November 2019 | by lavenahSee all my reviews

New Ultimates are forced into a new killing game on Jabberwock Island. This is were Hajime steps in! Goodbye Despair is a great sequel to the original Danganronpa though sometimes I think this one has more harsh ultimates. I hate how they make it look like threatening to murder and use a fragile abused and perverted nurse like Mikan like a prositut,as if it's hilarious when it isn't.. Unlike the original though there is really nothing to hate. What i've just said there was the only thing I didn't like... Hiyoko's behavior, Fuyuhiko threatening to murder Mikan, and veeryone trating Nagito like he's....mentally unstable.... when in reality, he uses hope as a coping mechaism for traumtic expirences in this past.

An improvement is that now we have an agreement bullets, and rebuttal showdowns, Instead of having just bullets that contridict what your classmates say, and Now in this sequel we have a more tropical expirence instead of a "trapped" expirence.

Unlike in the previouys game, every ultimate is still alive, except.. sadly... the ultimate gamer.... because.... the mastermind killed her to destory the world.... All of this was due the killing game being in a Neo World Program. Like your consciousness and senses uploaded into a virtual world.

This sequel does keep up well with the original. The ending is a lot more powerful than the original. I give this sequel an outstanding 9.1/10 But 10/10 for fame reasons.
