Apple TV+ Unveils Premiere Dates for ‘Defending Jacob,’ Home,’ ‘Trying’ and ‘Dear…’

Apple TV+ revealed the premiere dates for new series and docuseries “Home,” “Trying,” “Defending Jacob” and “Dear…” Sunday at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour.

The streaming service also announced that “Central Park,” an animated musical comedy from Loren Bouchard (“Bob’s Burgers”), Josh Gad and Nora Smith, will launch this summer.

Central Park” is an animated musical comedy about the Tillermans, a family that lives in, and are the caretakers of, Central Park, according to its logline. Owen, the park manager, and Paige, his journalist wife, raise their kids Molly and Cole in the world’s most famous park, while fending off a hotel heiress Bitsy Brandenham and her long suffering assistant Helen, who would love nothing more than to turn the park into condos.

The “Central Park” voice cast includes Gad, Leslie Odom, Jr., Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Tituss Burgess, Daveed Diggs and Stanley Tucci. The series is

‘Utopia’: John Cusack To Star In Amazon Series
John Cusack is set to star opposite Sasha Lane and Rainn Wilson in Utopia, Amazon’s straight-to-series adaptation of the British drama, written by Gone Girl author and screenwriter Gillian Flynn.

Utopia follows a group of young adults who meet online that are mercilessly hunted by a shadowy deep state organization after they come into possession of a near-mythical cult underground graphic novel. Within the comic’s pages, they discover the conspiracy theories that may actually be real and are forced into the dangerous, unique and ironic position of saving the world.

Cusack will play Dr. Kevin Christie. Charismatic and media-savvy, with a brilliant biotech mind and a philanthropic outlook. Christie altruistically wants to change the world through science. Child actor and Javon “Wanna” Walton also stars.

John Cusack to Star in Amazon Series ‘Utopia’
John Cusack will star in a series regular role as Dr. Kevin Christie in Amazon’s upcoming show “Utopia.”

In “Utopia,” a group of young adults who meet online are mercilessly hunted by a shadowy deep state organization after they come into possession of a near-mythical cult underground graphic novel. They discover the conspiracy theories in the comic’s pages may actually be real and are forced into the dangerous, unique and ironic position of saving the world.

Cusack will play Christie, a charismatic, media-savvy and brilliant biotech mind who wants to change the world through science. He is the latest addition to the cast, after Rainn Wilson joined the project to play Michael Stearns and Sasha Lane is set to portray Jessica Hyde.

As Berlin's European Film Market kicks off, German indie distributor Tiberius Film has picked up a trio of films, taking German rights for French comedy Mrs. Mills; the genre thriller Distorted, starring Christina Ricci and John Cusack; and the low-budget cowboy horror-thriller Lasso.

Sophie Marceau directed and stars in Mrs. Mills as a workaholic publisher of corny romance novels whose ordered life is thrown a curve when a new neighbor moves in who is a cross-dressing crook disguised as an eccentric American woman (played by French actor Pierre Richard).

Distorted Movie Trailer Goes Vr with Christina Ricci and John Cusack
The latest trailer for Distorted has been released and it's a 360 degree experience, allowing viewers to choose what they focus on. The movie stars Christina Ricci and John Cusack and the latest 360 degree trailer is also promoting a unique virtual reality experience to coincide with the release of Distorted, which hits theaters later this month. The Vr experience is roughly ten minutes long and was shot using 16, synchronized GoPro Hero4s filmed with the GoPro Odyssey and under Jump, which is Google's professional Vr video program.

Watching the 360 degree version of the trailer for Distorted gives the viewer a chance to look around the set of the movie without seeing any of the crew, which is pretty remarkable. Exclusive: Two companies — Minds Eye Entertainment and Sky Vr — have produced a scripted, live-action 360 cinematic Vr experience tied to the release of the Christina Ricci and John Cusack film Distorted. To get an idea of what this means, click on the trailer above and you will be able to move the footage to see the entire film set (in its narrative form) while the video is playing. The Vr drops today and the film releases on June 22nd.
