Inspiration for the series came from discussions that Tony McNamara had with lawyers who talked with him about the Impaired Registrants Program, a practice operated by the Medical Council of New South Wales, which seeks to ensure that medical practitioners are fit for practice and in doing so, the program manages doctors who suffer from a psychiatric illness, self-administration of drugs, alcohol abuse, and physical illness. Not Rock 'n' Roll, But Still Liking This Australian Drama!
As a lover of the Australian series "Spirited" I, of course, very much disliked Steve Darling (played by Rodger Corser) and so followed him--Rodger, that is--here to find yet another little hidden gem out of Australia. (FYI, this series is also known as "The Heart Guy".) I'm not one for watching medical shows, but this series is more about delving into some truly interesting aspects of relationships--familial, romantic, sexual, and those of just friends and acquaintances living in a small town. A little corny (but in a kind of nice way), the characters are all very quirky and your attention is captured. I like it. Looking forward to the 4th season.
