The plot summary tells that Jane Tennison is 22 years old in 1973, which would make her 55 in 2006, Helen Mirren's last appearance in 'Prime Suspect 7-The Final Act'-this is five years past the mandatory retirement age. Exceptions can be made in certain cases, but these apply only to more senior ranks than hers (Det. Supt).
