Twelve years after the tragic death of their little girl, a doll-maker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, where they become the target of the doll-maker's possessed creation, Annabelle.
Six strangers are given mysterious black boxes with tickets to an immersive escape room for a chance to win tons of money. Being locked in several rooms with extreme conditions, they discover the secrets behind the escape room and must fight to survive and to find a way out.
Numerous intricate deleted scenes were shot but cut. One involves a team of five Latino soccer players and their coach attempting the "oven room" of the escape, only to make too many blunt attempts at breaking the game and resulting in their death. Others include a scene of Ben buying liquor, an extended cut of Zoe returning to the scene of the crime with the police, and extended cuts of the various players trying to solve the initial black puzzle box. In the official trailer the winning prize for successful escape is dubbed as $1,000,000 but in the movie it is only $10,000, as can be seen printed on the entry voucher and is stated by the characters when they gather for the first time. Still, the entry voucher with the printed sum of $10,000 is also briefly visible in the trailer. See more »
I'm not a fan of PG-13 horror. I like my sex and violence. But I was pleasantly surprised by this. Yes it rips off "Saw" and "Hostel" but it shows that you don't need gore to be scared. It's the cast that makes the movie. I liked everyone. When a character was in danger, I was scared. If they didn't make it, I was horrified. Horror is at its best when you're emotionally invested in the participants.
