Sam/Pilot
10 January 2019 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

Alleged Sleazeball Louis C.K. co-wrote and directed this pilot.

Star Pamela Adlon is the other co-writer. She plays Sam Fox. Divorced, middle aged. She tries to make a living as an actress and she has three daughters who test her patience and wear her out.

There seems to be little room for Sam and any men in hectic her life.

It is not really a comedy, more a minimalist slice of life comedy drama.

The episode ends with Sam unhappy about doing a raunchy scene. Something her daughters and her friends might find a bit embarrassing. The director retorts with the 'funny scene.' Not exactly leaving Sam with her dignity intact. I wonder if that scene came from Pamela or Louis?

Nothing much happens in this episode, it introduces Sam and she is very well played by Pamela Adlon. You might even think it was semi autobiographical.
