A police detective in 2016 discovers that she is able to speak via a ham radio with her estranged father; Frank Sullivan, a detective who died in 1996 and the two must work together to change the history of tragic events to come while also getting the chance to heal their complicated relationship.

With the exception of the 4-minute-long "Epilogue", the name of each episode in Season 1 has a meaning or connotation connected to ham radio (aka: amateur radio) and/or radio broadcasting technology. In fact, even the first episode, aptly entitled "Pilot", which simply refers to it being the pilot of the series, has a connection to radio communications - as in a "pilot signal" in telecommunications or the "pilot tone" in analog FM Stereo Broadcasting.
