Storyline

Adrian Chiles converted to Catholicism ten years ago, he journeys around the Mediterranean experiencing some of the religious festivals of the region to discover if his choice of religion was an accident of birth and geography. He begins his tour around the Mediterranean with a visit to the coast of Dalmatia where he meets up with his Croatian-born mother. He then travels to Istanbul where he visits the Grand Bazaar and travels out onto the Bosphorus with a Muslim fisherman. During the major Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha, Adrian finds it difficult to watch the ritual sacrifices being made. Next stop is Jerusalem, where Adrian samples the Jewish festival of Sukkot before visiting a gay, atheist, Jewish celebrity chef in Tel-Aviv. Finally, Adrian attends an evangelical Christian concert on the shores of the Dead Sea. Written by Mark_a_Wood <markawood@hotmail.co.uk>
