Erin goes to see the juror, and asks him why he voted the way he did, he says that there was a witness in the original report who claims that the shooter was someone else but the witness didn't testify. The other D.A. says the witness just vanished so Erin tries to find the witness who is found dead. Erin sees the defendant who convinces her he didn't do it. So Erin decides to investigate from another angle. Jamie tries to help some senior citizens who are being harassed by a gang. Jamie thinks there's something off about their M.O. Frank is being hounded by the press to answer if he will continue as commissioner. But he's evasive claiming the mayor hasn't asked him yet. Written by

Trying an innocent man
1 December 2016 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

The spotlight is on Bridget Moynahan in this Blue Bloods story. Moynahan and her ace investigator Steven Schirippa who is becoming my favorite in Blue Bloods.

A hung jury was the verdict in a homicide trial of a citizen being killed during a carjacking. A professional carjacker got charged with the crime. There is a similarity here to a classic Columbo episode where Val Avery a professional burglar is accused of a pair of murders committed by a burglar.

So Moynahan and Schirippa go to work and guess what, an innocent man was being tried. Moynahan inherits this case from Diane Neal whose most famous role was that of ADA Casey Novack on SVU. The scene between the two of them who are rivals is a classic.

Most of the rest of the case is whether the mayor will ask Tom Selleck to stay on. In this family of cops that sure is going to effect everyone at the Reagan dinner table. Donnie Wahlberg is the voice of reason at said table.

One of the best Blue Bloods episodes around.
