Sony's "The Black Cat"

Sony's 'Universe of Marvel Characters' including the currently shooting "Spider-Man" spin-off "Morbius", opening July 31, 2020, will be followed by a "Venom" sequel, plus stand-alone "Kraven The Hunter", "Silver Sable", "Nightwatch", "Silk", "Jackpot" and "The Black Cat" features:

"We have the next seven or eight years laid out as to what we’re going to do with that asset", said Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman Tony Vinciquerra about the studio's "Spider-Man" spin-off movie rights.

"And that will not only be on the film side -- it’ll be on the TV side as well. Our television group will have its own set of characters from within that universe that we will seek to develop."

"'Spider-Man' connects to a lot of characters," said Sanford Panitch, President of Columbia Pictures. "There are villains, heroes, anti-heroes, and a lot are female characters, many of whom are bona fide, fully dimensionalized and unique..."

Venom Producer Says Sony Has Big Plans For Spider-Man

2018’s Venom may have disappointed critics but audiences loved it. The film grossed $856 million at the box office, making that teaser scene featuring Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady/Carnage certain to lead to a sequel. But for a while, things went quiet on Venom 2. In retrospect, this may have been a result of behind-the-scenes negotiations on the future of Spider-Man in the McU. The eventual conclusion of those negotiations should mean good things for Spidey fans though, with the character confirmed to return to the McU as well as most likely facing off against Tom Hardy’s Venom and/or Woody Harrelson’s Carnage.

Now, in a new interview, Venom producer Matt Tolmach has been grilled about what exactly they have in store for everyone’s favorite web-slinger, and here’s what he teased:

“We have big plans.”

I mean, we already knew that, so this isn’t terribly surprising to hear.

Moon Knight Will Appear In Marvel’s Blade Reboot

Moon Knight is coming to the McU. At last, after years of fans calling for the anti-hero to make it into live-action, Marvel Studios announced that a TV series is on its way to Disney Plus this past summer. And Marc Spector’s role in the franchise won’t stop there, either, as Kevin Feige has confirmed that Moon Knight – along with fellow D+ characters She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel – will crossover into the movies, too. And we may have found out what his first film appearance will be.

We Got This Covered has been told by our sources – the same ones who revealed that a She-Hulk show was happening way back in April, and that Wiccan will debut in WandaVision, both of which turned out to be true – that Moon Knight is expected to feature in the upcoming Blade reboot, starring Mahershala Ali as the Daywalker. It’s currently unclear

Tom Hardy’s Venom May Show Up In The Dark Avengers Movie

The renewed Disney/Sony deal that brought Spider-Man back to the McU changed the rules from the previous arrangement. From now on, Tom Holland can show up as the wall-crawler in Sony’s Marvel movies, too, with Peter Parker now expected to turn up in the likes of Venom 2 and Morbius. But could it work the opposite way, as well? Could Tom Hardy’s Venom appear in the McU instead?

According to our sources, yes, he can, as Kevin Feige is now open to bringing Sony’s characters into the Marvel Studios franchise. We Got This Covered has heard that the producer is currently considering his options, but one upcoming McU project that Eddie Brock may appear in is the Dark Avengers movie, which has previously been rumored from multiple quarters.

Norman Osborn is thought to be a major player for the McU going forward, as though the temporary

Sony Developing Live-Action Female-Led Iron Spider Movie

Sony is pressing ahead with its plans to create a wide-ranging universe out of the Spider-Man franchise. With Peter Parker mostly tied up in the McU, the studio is making use of the fact that audiences are now familiar with the extended Spider-Verse to dip into the multiverse and build movies around other versions of the wall-crawler. We’ve yet to see any live-action properties from this line of thinking, but we know that they’re in the works and here’s another to add to the list.

We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who told us Marvel was developing a She-Hulk show and that Deadpool 3 was coming in 2022, which looks to be all but confirmed now – that Sony is working on a live-action Iron Spider movie. Specifically, this will star Mary Jane Watson in the Iron Spider armor.

If you’ll recall,

Denzel Washington’s ‘Little Things’ Casts John Harlan Kim (Exclusive)

  • Variety
Warner Bros.’ “The Little Things,” a crime thriller starring Denzel Washington, has cast actor John Harlan Kim.

John Lee Hancock is writing and directing the film, which also stars Rami Malek and Jared Leto. “The Little Things” follows a burned-out Kern County, Calif. deputy sheriff named Deke (Washington), who teams with Baxter, a crack Lasd detective (Malek), to reel in a wily serial killer. Deke’s nose for the “little things” proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past.

Kim will portray a rookie cop, while Leto will portray the serial killer on the loose. The film is currently in production.

Kim’s past credits include a starring role in TNT series “The Librarians” as Ezekiel Jones, CW’s “Pandora” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.” On the film front, he will

Happy Birthday To Former Doctor Who Star Matt Smith

Happy birthday, Matt Smith! The former star of Doctor Who and The Crown celebrates his 37th birthday today (October 28th).

Matthew Robert Smith originally hoped to become a professional soccer player before a serious injury in his teenage years prevented him from following that path. A drama teacher spotted his acting talent, though, and encouraged him to shift his attention to performing arts. Years later, Smith got his big break when he was hired to play the Eleventh Doctor at the age of just 26. To date, he remains the youngest actor to nab the part.

The star bowed out of the role in 2013 and his career has gone from strength to strength ever since, appearing in blockbusters, indie movies and stage plays. And, of course, as Prince Phillip in the first two seasons of Netflix’s aforementioned royal drama. In fact, he’s currently working with The Crown co-star Claire Foy

Venom Will Reportedly Have A Small Cameo In Morbius

In all of the publicity that surrounded Spider-Man’s departure and then swift reintroduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you could be forgiven for forgetting that Sony are still going to launch a Marvel universe of their own. Obviously, Venom was a massive hit and the sequel recently hired Andy Serkis to direct Tom Hardy going up against Woody Harrelson’s wig, but Venom 2 is actually the second Sony/Marvel project to hit theaters next year, with Morbius arriving three months earlier.

The adaptation of Marvel’s second-most popular vampire finished shooting a couple of months ago, but very little has been heard about Morbius since then. Jared Leto stars as the title character, and will surely be hoping that his second attempt at headlining a comic book movies fares better than his divisive portrayal of the Joker, which was quickly swept under the rug after he was omitted

J.K. Simmons Will Reportedly Return As J. Jonah Jameson In Morbius

It’s being reported that J.K. Simmons will be reprising his McU role as J. Jonah Jameson in Morbius. Apparently, it’ll be another cameo that’s set to have huge implications for both the McU and the Sumc (Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters) and could lead to more appearances down the road.

In the wake of the recent Disney v Sony Spider-Man drama, we’d heard repeated indications that Sony’s new superhero universe (thus far limited to Venom) will be more intertwined with the McU than previously planned. Simmons’ Jameson appearing in both would certainly seem to indicate that this is the case and would also bolster rumors that part of the agreement between the two studios was to allow Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to cameo in Venom 2 and go on to appear in a full role in Venom 3. It could also be a strong hint

The Ponds Are Back Together In New Doctor Who Reunion Photo

They’re one of the most beloved couples in Doctor Who history but we haven’t seen the Ponds together on the series since way back in 2012. Thanks to this new photo, though, Amy and Rory have reunited! And we have former showrunner Steven Moffat to thank for it.

Moffat recently shared this heartwarming snap on his Instagram account which sees the writer serving as the filling in a Pond sandwich – on his right is Karen Gillan, who played Amy Pond, and on his left is Arthur Darvill, who played her husband Rory Williams. The photo was taken in the green room in The National Theatre in London, where Darvill’s starring in a play called The Antipodes, so it seems like his two old Doctor Who colleagues came to watch him perform.

Jared Leto Rumored For Nightmare In Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange will find himself facing his most dangerous adversary yet in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Well, probably. It hasn’t been 100% confirmed yet, but every single sign is pointing to Nightmare featuring in the upcoming sequel. Marvel will have to find a talented star to not only share scenes with their leading man then, but also someone to embody as complex a character as the terrifying ruler of the Dream Dimension.

And, according to a new rumor, the studio is casting its net wide to find the perfect actor to portray Nightmare. So says a “leak” posted to 4chan, and shared on Reddit, which claims Marvel’s considering a range of high-profile male and female actors for the part. WB Could Recast Jared Leto For Future Joker Dceu Appearances

Jared Leto’s performance as the Clown Prince of Crime in Suicide Squad was easily one of the most controversial aspects of what was a very divisive movie as a whole. His peculiar off-camera behaviour didn’t help endear him to audiences, either. Director David Ayer recently backed up his star, but the monumental success of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker movie has further cemented the feeling that Leto’s future in the Dceu is on shaky ground.

Now, a fresh report from Fandom Wire suggests that the actor may well be recast down the line. As has been well-documented of late, Leto’s not best pleased with Todd Phillips’ origin film for the villain, with the actor allegedly doing his best to stop it getting made. The star is said to have been left “upset” and “alienated” by the idea of a Joker solo movie without him in the lead.
