Grammy(R)-nominated comedian Tig Notaro headlines and directs this stand-up comedy special taped at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston, MA. Known for her distinctive storytelling, offbeat sense of humor and honesty, Notaro's deadpan stand-up style draws on highly personal experiences, including a breast-cancer diagnosis and the death of her mother.
I have to start off saying I guess I still BELIEVE I think Tig is probably a great writer; that is, I really like shows she has written/collaborated with such as Inside Amy Schumer and the Sarah Silverman Program. In fact, the couple of scenes where she acted on the Sarah Silverman program were hilarious. But after watching this, I guess I'm no in doubt as to how much of the parts of those shows I laughed at were actually written by Tig...since I didn't laugh once during this stand-up act. I didn't so much as smile. In fact it just made me sad to see her talk about "bombing" while bombing. Her stage presence was like watching an even MORE listlessly slow female version of Steven Wright on heroin. I really wish I had something good or funny to say...but then again...neither did Tig, so I guess we're even?
