"Flycatcher" is based on an original play "Sequences", in which film maker Gregg Masuak and actress/writer Anne Rabbitt were two of four writers. Taking the hub of their part of the play, Masuak reconstructed the storyline into a film format. However, in 2011, "Flycatcher" debuted as a play at the prestigious Theatre 503 in London for a limited run. There were 83 on-stage scene changes - possibly a world-wide record for theatre.
