The hole in the wall made with the axe is in no way as large on the inside as it is on the outside; however, when the camera pans out, the hole is big enough for the viewer to see Joyce's whole face. Furthermore, although the hole was made from the inside, there is no debris at all outside. See more »

Lucas Sinclair: Yeah. I heard a baby.
Mike Wheeler: What?
Lucas Sinclair: Mike, you obviously tapped into a baby monitor. It's probably the Blackburns next door.
Mike Wheeler: Uh, did that sound like a baby to you? That was Will.
Lucas Sinclair: Mike...
Mike Wheeler: Lucas, you don't understand. He spoke last night- words! He was singing that weird song he loves. Even El heard him.
Lucas Sinclair: Oh well, if the weirdo heard him, then I guess...
