Like peanut butter and jelly, car chases and movies are two things that just go together perfectly. A chase is inherently interesting to watch - someone is trying their best to get away by any means possible, while the other party is trying to stop them from doing so. The danger involved, the threat of violence, and even the thrill of the hunt are all part of why we often can’t look away. A car chase is the next level of chase. They are fast - an embodiment of man and machine together. They are also dangerous - the stakes are incredibly high, and not just for the people involved in the chase.

'Alleycats' begins shoot with Eleanor Tomlinson, Sam Keeley
Exclusive: Shoot underway on thriller backed by The Fyzz Facility.

Filming is underway in London on illegal bike-racing thriller Alleycats, backed by The Fyzz Facility.

Screen Stars of Tomorrow Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark) and Sam Keeley (What Richard Did) star alongside John Hannah (Four Weddings and a Funeral), John Lynch (The Fall), Rizzle Kicks singer Jordan Stephens, Camilla Rutherford (Gosford Park), Virgile Bramly (Point Blank) and Josh Whitehouse (Northern Soul). 

The Fyzz Facility and Elephant Gun Films have backed the debut feature from director Ian Bonhôte, a thriller set in the world of illegal bike racing in London.

Andy Ryder produces, writers are Simon Uttley, Max Kinnings and Anthea Anka. Casting director is former Screen Star of Tomorrow Rose Wicksteed.

Co-producer is Emma Lamont (Shelby) and executive producers are Robert Jones (The Usual Suspects), Wayne Marc Godfrey (Cake), and David Gilbery (War Pigs).

The production also raised money through a Kickstarter campaign.

Tom Arnold Signs With ICM Partners
Exclusive: Actor and comedian Tom Arnold has signed with ICM Partners following the closure of upstart agency Resolution. The move reunites Arnold with John Burnham, the former William Morris agent who landed the actor a role in his first film, 1992’s Hero, and put him in front of James Cameron who cast him opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in True Lies. Arnold can be seen in Mike Myers’ documentary Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon. He’s currently filming Yahoo’s comedy series Sin City Saints with Andrew Santino and Malin Akerman and has indie drama Any Day with Sean Bean, Eva Longoria, and Kate Walsh coming up along with a role in Chevy Chase’s holiday film Shelby.

Chevy Chase Christmas Comedy Shelby Acquired by Starz Media

Highland Film Group today announced the closing of major territory sales, including: Us, UK, France, Australia and more, on Brian K. Roberts’ Christmas heart-warmer Shelby, starring Chevy Chase (Caddyshack, Community), John Paul Ruttan (Robocop), Tom Arnold (True Lies), and the vocal talents of Rob Schneider (Grown Ups) as the mischievous dog.

The U.S. rights have been acquired by Starz Media with home video distribution via Anchor Bay Entertainment. In addition to the following territories and respective distributors have been secured: Signature Entertainment in the UK; Jigsaw in Australia/New Zealand; Just Bridge in Benelux; Zylo in France; Falcon in the Middle East; TV Joj in Slovakia; Fox Asia for PanAsia TV; Padora in Ex Yugo; and Profile Media in Turkey.

Highland buyers check into Shelby
Worldwide rights holders Highland Film Group has reported a slew of sales at Afm on Christmas tale Shelby starring Chevy Chase.

Rights to Shelby have gone in the UK (Signature Entertainment), Australia/New Zealand (Jigsaw), Benelux (Just Bridge), France (Zylo), Middle East (Falcon), Slovakia (TV Joj), former Yugoslavia (Padora), Turkey (Profile Media) and pan-Asian TV (Fox Asia).

Starz Media has acquired Us rights and will distribute on home entertainment via Anchor Bay Entertainment.

John Paul Ruttan, Tom Arnold and the voice talent of Rob Schneider round out the cast on the Christma tale of a dog that escapes from the pound and lands at the home of an aspiring young magician and his grandfather.

UK and Los Angeles-based producer-financier The Fyzz Facility fully developed the original story before going on to finance the project in conjunction with Canadian producers Naked Fury and Outpost Media.
