Old Jack's Boat is a charming series aimed at youngsters but even older kids or the young of heart can enjoy.
Bernard Cribbins is a retired fisherman called Old Jack who lives in a little village on the North Yorkshire Coast of Staithes who interacts with the villagers and tells stories from inside his old fishing boat with his trusty dog companion.
With Bernard telling tales it is a throwback to the days of Jackanory which Bernard excelled at.
Keen eyed viewers will notice that two members of the cast have been companions of the doctor in Doctor Who. The Christmas episode was written by none other than Russell T Davies regarded as one of the finest dramatists in Britain.
