Storyline

Valerie Dupree is found floating in the pool at Jeremy Cutting's cosmetic clinic. Dr Anna Jones claims she was suicidal after her divorce but Poole suspects she was poisoned by the cup of tea she left half drunk. Fellow patient Jayne Smythe believes Valerie was having an affair with the younger Paul Vincent but Dr Jones admits she was sleeping with him, giving him an alibi. It turns out that Valerie had made an urgent call to a lawyer in France and Poole suspects she was about to sue the clinic for botched surgery caused by Tipping's failing eye sight. But events take another turn when the clinic is exposed as giving criminals new identities - and faces. Written by don @ minifie-1

Goofs

When Detective Poole finds the box of expensive tea in the victim's room, he says "Camellia Sinensis if I recall correctly" - but ALL tea (except for herbal teas) is made from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant. A connoisseur such as Detective Poole would have known that. See more »

Murder under the Surgeon's knife

This is a very different episode. The team are called in to check over a suspicious suicide, but Poole's curious knowledge of quality teas convinces him that murder is afoot. It is so clever, tightly written.

This is a great mix of humour and drama, unlike later seasons the laughs were genuine and well woven in, at no time did it feel like the cast were sending the show up. The ball throwing moment was perhaps a little far fetched, but funny.

Very well acted once again, special mention to Cherie Lunghi, very charismatic, very glamorous. The chemistry between Poole and Camille is great once again.

No wonder millions love it.
