Storyline

Still coming to terms with Dr. Vogel's death, Dexter wants to eliminate Oliver Saxon before he, Harrison and Hannah head off to South America. He also has a lot of personal items to tie up including selling his condo. Saxon shows up as a prospective buyer and offers Dexter a deal: they stop going after each other and go their own way. Dexter is non-committal and, having located his kill room, sets a trap for him. Meanwhile, U.S. Deputy Marshall Clayton is following Deb, certain that she will lead him to Hannah. Dexter is continuing to reevaluate his priorities and his final choices have an impact on several key players. Written by garykmcd

Trivia

Daniel Vogel tells Dexter "Miami is a great city" and that he "loves the cuban food". This almost identical to part of Dexter's first lines on the show. He also comments on the low murder solve rate, something Dexter commented on in the first episode. See more »

Goofs

In former episode, Dexter hugs dying Evelyn, who's heavily bleeding from her throat. He's wearing gloves. At the beginning of this episode, Dexter is washing his hands, literally soaked with blood, like if he was bare handed. Instead, his shirt has just some small spots of blood... See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Dexter Morgan: [narrating] Vogel warned me I've been straddling two worlds, and I ignored her. For that, she paid the price with her life. Now, I have to remove myself from her life.
[removing evidence from Vogel's house]
Dexter Morgan: I never imagined the last homicide I'd work would be one I'm now a part of. I have to call this in. I can't be seen leaving the scene of the crime. The last time I was in a pool of my mother's blood, I was too young to do anything about it, but I'm no longer a child.

Dexter deserves to end on a good note..
16 September 2013 | by kaizad_kaiz-258-418937See all my reviews

Why do all the hate mongers want dexter to burn in hell or not get away with what he has done? on the other note, what do you mean by justice? this is exactly why dexter was made in the first place, to question our own conscience and choose between what we think is right and wrong! i can agree to a certain level of certainty that the ending will be unexpected for most of the people and it really does not matter whether he gets away and leads a happy life or dies or get caught by the police. What matters is that dexter has changed after such a long period of struggle and has finally started to take such decisions in life that is better for him as a human being in the long run emotion-wise and not as a psychotic rage-full killer...

If in the end, he can get away with all of it then so be it! politicians and gangsters do bad things and get away with it all the time, then why can't a serial killer who has a high morale and knows when or how to punish the culprits or considers himself as the guardian of city Miami? Why can't you see justice being served to a just person? Dexter deserves to be happy, and live a loving life with his son and hannah!! You are perfect dexter, just the way you are
