Not even Garth can save it.

After "Blood Brother" I was happy to go into a monster of the week episode. I just wish "Southern Comfort" had actually delivered.

The villain of the week is a spectre, it haunts people who have feelings of being screwed over, it gets into Dean, Dean fights Sam, they go home at the end.

This episode is just there and the only thing I think it does particularly well is Garth is super fun and a great addition to the cast. Otherwise? It's just a fine episode. I'm not a fan of the continued strain on Sam and Dean's relationship especially since it yet again just feels like a retread of Season 4, a much MUCH better season.

There's also an extremely unnecessary scene that shows how the ghost's coin goes from one body to the next that we really didn't need and only felt like it was there to pad the runtime out.

"Southern Comfort" is an exercise in how much of this boring, tired and annoying plotline between Sam and Dean I can take before I shut the show off and skip ahead.
