After shooting Simon, fatally, Lena escapes being discovered by a delivery man and by Annie, who hallucinates while rushed to hospital for critical surgery. Arthur orders an investigation and tends to Lena's thesis that Annie is a traitor who wasn't properly screened as a recruit. Auggie risks his and a career-bribed polygraph expert's career to conduct his own investigation, while the CIA director officially sanctions Annie's dishonorable discharge in hurry. It leads Auggie to the passport forger, but Lena anticipated that.

The dance scene between Annie and Auggie in this episode mirrors the dance scene that takes place in the start up credits at the beginning of every show. See more
In reality, the doctor trying to revive Annie is defibrillating a patient who is flat line (no electrical activity in the heart). This leads to the misperception that defibrillation 'jump starts' a heart. Nothing could be further from the truth. Defibrillation attempts to convert a chaotic rhythm (ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation) into a coherent rhythm. You don't shock flat line. See more
Maybe Lena was right. Maybe we brought Annie in too early.
No, she was ready, Arthur. She had more raw talent than anyone I have ever seen, and in the two and a half years that we've worked together, she's proved herself to be an invaluable operative.
Invaluable? Even if she was lying to you the entire time?
You have never doubted she was guilty, have you? You didn't even try to defend her. So what about the operative who depends on you to have their back?
