Easily the best New Zealand short film i've ever seen. Hilarious, Oblique and Tarantino_esque. This film breaks the reliably funded intense, moody, depressing motif that dominates the narratives of the traditional NZ short film. Was a genuine pleasure to watch and hear.
The film depicts a family cursed each with a 10,000 day life, and a relative returning to see his recently deceased cousin buried. Knowing his number is nearly up the protagonist forms a promisingly short lived and somewhat forced relationship with one of the mourners at his cousins funeral.
inspiring day to day living in short film. loved it. No sentimental tears, No heartfelt Y.O.L.O apologies. Cut loose, Reckless, i'm gonna die in a week NZ uncomfortable romance.
(full disclosure: I work in the industry, on this film even, but have no personal or financial connection to the film makers. In fact, this is one of many short films i have worked on free of charge. Its great.)
