It's the last day on patrol for Tang, as she prepares to move to another precinct as sergeant. But first she wants to tie up some loose ends on the beat. Lydia is pressured to make a decision about the extent of her police duties during the rest of her pregnancy. With Sammy recovering from injuries, Ben and Ferguson are partnered together. But Ben is bent on tracking down the woman he's been trying to help so he can protect her daughter from the abusive pimp controlling their lives. Written by TNT Publicity
If memory serves, the fourth season ended without a renewal announcement; so, 'Thursday' is an interesting way to go out, more as a study of character than anything really big happening.
Lydia's bringing a new life into the world, Cooper & Tang are finished, and Sammy & Bryant end the show with a fairly sizable gulf between them; certainly enough to lead one to believe they're done, too. And this finale does a lot to paint its characters as morally uncertain. Despite Ben actually crossing the line and committing murder (thus ending our killer pimp storyline), it's a retrained manner of closing out the season.
No complaints, as it is engaging from start to finish. I've seen this show over and over again, and this still leaves me jonesing for the next season.
Can't beat that.
