Sex & Nudity

  • Frontal nudity not related to nude models. Nude boy in bath with knife being held to his throat before being murdered but no nudity actually shown. Extremely gory scene in Season 1 Episode 1 of a male corpse (with prolonged full frontal nudity) being eviscerated, including comments about his very clearly seen circumsized penis with the main character referring to his "trimmed member" and a girl in the scene saying "I've never seen one like that".
  • Leonardo and his peers did draw/sculpt unclothed subjects; artwork of such is seen from time to time and sometimes models posing for the same are seen nude (mostly distant, obscured by foreground, and very brief).
  • Occasional brothel/bathing scenes: frequent glimpses of partial nudity. Frequent sex scenes.

Violence & Gore

  • I turned it off after a few episodes. The torture scenes, violence and gore are not fleeting and is thrown in your face. It overshadows the story.
  • Violence and bloodshed in the show, including decapitations, stabbings, and mass killings, but not overly gorey or dwelled upon.

  • The most prominent curse word is f*ck and it is frequently used.. Damn, hell, God, and Jesus are all used regularly. There are some uses of f*ck used in a sexual context, including "f*ck me again". B*tch is occasionally said. And at least one use of c*nt in season 1.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Leonardo will occasionally smoke his pipe to calm down his nerves and 'muddy his brain so he won't eviscerate himself'.
  • Occasional wine drinking.
