The turbulent rise and fall of a singer-songwriter and her relationship with a loving but obsessive mother who struggles to come to terms with her daughter's life choices and potentially terminal illness.
A friend of mine saw this at a film festival and recommended it. It was all from the point of view of the serial killer. But it was funny and visually creative. Also, the music was great. I thought the songs were normal songs, but at some point I realized they were all original, and commented on what was happening. The score is by Harry Gregson-Williams, too! A lot of the acting was great, especially the girl in the wheelchair halfway through the movie. And the singer Taylor Dayne was hilarious. Very different and smart!
