‘Lizzie McGuire’ Reboot Series in the Works at Disney Plus

  • Variety
Get excited “Lizzie McGuire” fans because a reboot series of the much loved Disney Channel teen show has been picked up at Disney Plus.

The original “Lizzie McGuire” series ran for two seasons on the Disney Channel from 2001 to 2004. The show helped establish Duff as a household name in the 2000s. It centered around the titular 13-year old who struggled to navigate middle school.

“Lizzie has also grown up, she’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget,” Duff said from the stage Friday in Anaheim. She added, “She has her dream job, the perfect life right now working as an apprentice to a fancy New York City decorator.

The other co-hosts — Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba and Eve — were all visibly wrecked by her departure, but no one squeezed more tears out of Gilbert than Sharon Osbourne, the only person remaining who was by her side when The Talk premiered back in 2010.

“I really wanted Sharon to be on this panel and I fought for her to be here and she wanted to do it and I was so grateful. ‘Medium’ Potential Series Revival Doesn’t Spook Patricia Arquette

‘Medium’ Potential Series Revival Doesn’t Spook Patricia Arquette
Patricia Arquette can’t predict whether there’s a possible revival of Medium in her future. But she’s not ruling it out.

Arquette visited The Talk today and addressed rumors about the show’s potential return. The supernatural drama series originally aired on NBC for five seasons starting in 2005, then shifted to CBS for two more starting in 2009 and ending in January 2011.

In the show, Arquette played Allison DuBois, a medium consulting the Phoenix district attorney’s office while presiding over a family featuring three daughters who share her supernatural gift. The show was based on the real-life Allison DuBois, a medium who aided police in criminal investigations.

Regarding a Medium revival, Arquette said, “I haven’t been approached about one, and I know there has kind of been some talk online about that. I would definitely read it, I mean the writing was so great, and I love all those people.

First Look at Kanye West's Star Wars Inspired Homes for Low Income Families
The prototypes for Kanye West's Star Wars inspired low income homes have found their way online. The rapper/producer/clothing designer's highly secretive "prefabricated structures" inspired by the Star Wars planet of Tatooine were first teased earlier this month when West spoke about them and showed an interviewer his vision. However, this is the first time the public has been able to see the domed structures, which West hopes to use as "low-income housing units" or "living spaces for the homeless."

The aerial shots of the prefabricated structures certainly would not look out of place on Tatooine. They have a similar look and feel, except they are massive. According to sources close to Kanye West, he hopes to "break the barriers that separate classes... namely, the rich, the middle class, and the poor." This is another pretty lofty goal from the rapper, but he seems intent on seeing it through.

How Kate Middleton and Prince William Are Really Getting Prince George Ready to Be King

How Kate Middleton and Prince William Are Really Getting Prince George Ready to Be King
One day, everything that the light touches, will belong to him. Wait, that's The Lion King, but Prince George's birthright—reign over the United Kingdom and, as of now, 16 commonwealth realms—isn't too shabby. Don't worry, the little lad hasn't yet been apprised of just what, exactly, is in store for him some decades down the road. He may be a big boy all of a sudden, turning 6 years old on Monday even though it feels as if he was just born, but it's still a little early for The Talk: "A king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun..." Oops, Lion King again. But still, that's a pretty universal lesson, especially if your...

White Chicks 2 Is Officially Happening According to Terry Crews

White Chicks 2 Is Officially Happening According to Terry Crews
Brace yourselves, as it's looking increasingly like White Chicks 2 is on the way. Earlier this year, Marlon Wayans said that there were "rumblings" about a possible sequel to the 2004 Wayans brothers comedy. Now, cast member Terry Crews has added some fuel to the fire, saying that the movie is going to happen. Beyond that, not much is clear but it looks like this unlikely sequel just became a whole lot more likely.

Terry Crews has talked about the possible follow-up in two different interviews. First, he was asked about it by a caller on Watch What Happens Live. The actor didn't mince words and revealed that Shawn Wayans, who co-starred in the movie alongside his brother Marlon Wayans, says it's happening. Here's what Crews had to say about it.

"You know what, I actually got with Shawn [Wayans], and he was like 'man we doing it, we getting it going...' Fifteen years ago,

Dean Cain Has Ideas For A Lois & Clark Relaunch

Considering that the Man of Steel took the 1990s off when it came to appearing in theatrically released movies, it’s a good thing fans had Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman to help satisfy their fix.

Having ran for four seasons, it showed a more domestic side to the timeless icon, in addition to putting great emphasis on his career as a reporter at the Daily Planet. And, of course, there was the matter of him finally being married off to Lois Lane, something that’d actually been unheard of at the time.

In the time since the series wrapped, lead actor Dean Cain has been among various others to have shown up in other Superman-based projects. In fact, he’s helped the legacy live on by playing the villainous Curtis Knox on Smallville, and by filling out the role of Jeremiah Danvers on the currently running Supergirl.

‘Angel’ 20th Anniversary Reunion Panel Set for New York Comic-Con – Without David Boreanaz
The “Angel” cast will celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary with a panel at New York Comic-Con this fall. Well, minus Angel himself, that is.

On Tuesday, NYCC announced a reunion has been set with stars Charisma Carpenter, James Marsters, J. August Richards, Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker for the fan convention, which runs October 3-6. Noticeably absent from that lineup is David Boreanaz, who played the titular vampire detective on the Joss Whedon-created “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” spinoff.

Boreanaz previously hinted during a March appearance on “The Talk” there was something brewing for “Angel’s” upcoming 20th anniversary in October, but he told TheWrap last month that he didn’t “know what’s going to happen.”

“It’s funny, whether it’s the 10th or the 15th or the 20th,

‘The Conners’ Star Sara Gilbert On Learning To Value Her Voice & Bringing New Vulnerability To Adult Darlene

‘The Conners’ Star Sara Gilbert On Learning To Value Her Voice & Bringing New Vulnerability To Adult Darlene
Long before she was a teenage actress holding her snarky own in Roseanne, before heading a panel of women sharing their perspectives on The Talk, and before the Roseanne reboot reconfigured into The Conners, Sara Gilbert found her voice as a performer.

Specifically, during an elementary school performance of The Wizard of Oz, the five-year-old Gilbert was cast as Toto, which sparked an improvisational chord. “When we were doing it, I decided to start barking at random times during the play, and every time I would bark, people would laugh,” Gilbert recalls. “That was me figuring out that I could do comedy.”

Showbusiness was the family trade: among other credits, her maternal grandfather Harry Crane developed The Honeymooners with Jackie Gleason and brought the celebrity roast concept to The Dean Martin Show. And half-siblings Melissa and Jonathan Gilbert were child stars on Little House on the Prairie, collecting crew gifts

Gwen Stefani on replacing Adam Levine on ‘The Voice’ and working with her ‘best friend’ Blake Shelton

Gwen Stefani on replacing Adam Levine on ‘The Voice’ and working with her ‘best friend’ Blake Shelton
Gwen Stefani says she is super-excited to be back on “The Voice” this fall as a coach alongside her boyfriend Blake Shelton. But she will miss Adam Levine on the panel. “Being between him and Blake, the amount of laughter, I would have to stop and massage my face, because it would hurt.”

In a candid interview on “The Talk,” the Grammy-winning singer revealed it was Levine who convinced her to join the show. “Adam texted me out of nowhere, and I didn’t even really know him.” She readily admits, “to think that he’s not going to be there is bittersweet.” But she is confident that Adam, who was with the show for all 16 seasons, will be back in some way down the line after concentrating on his music and touring for the time being.

Miley Cyrus Speaks Out After Being Groped by a Fan: "Don’t F*ck With My Freedom"

  • Popsugar
Miley Cyrus is responding to an unsettling incident in Barcelona, Spain. Over the weekend, a Twitter user captured a video of the 26-year-old singer-songwriter being grabbed and forcibly kissed by a stranger as she left her hotel with husband Liam Hemsworth. Liam walked in front of her and appeared unaware until security stepped in and separated Miley from the man.

On June 4, Miley responded to the incident on Twitter and used the scary moment to teach a lesson about consent. She shared a video with clips from shows like The Talk and Inside Edition to illustrate the situation and called out disturbing social media comments. Miley's words are an important reminder that what a person wears and who she's with do not determine her worth or right to privacy. "DontF*ckWithMyFreedom," isn't just a lyric from her new song "Mother's Daughter" or the phrase on her and Marc Jacobs's Planned Parenthood sweatshirt.

Gwen Stefani: Returning To ‘The Voice’ As Adam Levine Replacement “A Shock”

Gwen Stefani: Returning To ‘The Voice’ As Adam Levine Replacement “A Shock”
Gwen Stefani said on CBSThe Talk today that getting the call to return to The Voice as Adam Levine’s replacement came as “a shock.” (Watch video of the segment below.)

“I haven’t talked about it yet,” Stefani said, “because it was such a shock. I wanted to come back so bad. I mean, the show is so fun.” The singer continued, “I’m happy for Adam, because he’s been doing it 16 seasons… He has his baby. He’s going to be able to go on tour and do music in a different kind of way. It’s exciting for me though.”

News came last month that Levine would exit the NBC show after 16 competition cycles, with the Maroon 5 frontman explaining on Instagram “it was time to move on.”

On today’s The Talk, Stefani, who appeared on three previous seasons of the sining competition said Levine was the first person from the show to contact her when she was being wooed to join the first time around.

“Adam’s actually the first person to reach out to me when they were trying to pitch me the show,” she said. “He texted me out of nowhere, and I didn’t even really know him. To think that he’s not going to be there is bittersweet. And plus, like, being between him and Blake [Shelton], the amount of laughter, I would have to stop and massage my face, because it would hurt.”

Stefani said working with boyfriend Shelton will be “fun” and “exciting.”

“I mean, Blake’s my best friend, so I get to hang out with him at work,” Stefani said on the talk show.

Here’s the clip from today’s episode of The Talk:
