Storyline

In this documentary short training film, Navy pilots are instructed in aerial gunnery. The example of a careless and inattentive pilot named Dilbert is used to depict the many ways in which pilots can wreak havoc during gunnery training. Dilbert manages to kill colleagues and civilians alike with his forgetfulness, his thoughtlessness, and his cavalier attitude. Pilots are warned not to be a Dilbert. Don't Kill Your Friends is worth a look for any Huntz Hall fans out there
3 July 2015 | by tavmSee all my reviews

Just discovered this vintage Navy training film on YouTube. Huntz Hall plays Dilbert-a live action version of a cartoon character of the military unit who does all the wrong things concerning plane safety that causes his fellow men to be killed. He does what you expect him to do: have some funny moments when he speaks (Love his laugh here!) before the short gets serious about what happens if you do like Dilbert does. The music score is the comical kind you hear in comedy shorts or cartoons. The narrator doesn't sound very exciting so it's a plus that Hall got to appear in this as otherwise, one would probably go to sleep if it was serious the whole way through. So on that note, Don't Kill Your Friends is worth a look for any Huntz Hall completists out there.
