Disney Channel Star Cameron Boyce Dies at 20
Cameron Boyce, the actor known for starring in the Disney Channel series “Jessie” and the “Descendants” TV movies, has died. He was 20.

Boyce died due to an “ongoing medical condition,” his family said.

“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” his family said in a statement obtained by Variety. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”

‘Andi Mack’ To End With Season 3 On Disney Channel

There will be no fourth season for Disney’s Channel’s Andi Mack. The hit tween sitcom that has been hailed for inspiring social change and for making history with the first Disney Channel character to say “I’m gay,” will air its final episodes beginning Friday, June 21.

The Season 3 finale will serve as the series finale on Friday, July 26. Two episodes will air on Friday, June 21 at 8 Pm on Disney Channel and DisneyNow, with the remaining episodes airing weekly at 8 Pm through July 26. Adam Bonnett is stepping down as executive vice president of original programming at Disney Channels Worldwide to pursue a career as a producer, he announced Friday.

Bonnett — who has been with the cabler for 21 years — will depart next month, with a replacement expected to be named in the next few weeks. The exec currently oversees Disney Channel and Disney Xd’s live-action development, along with current original series and movies, and casting and talent relations for both channels. The Disney Channel has confirmed their hit diverse coming of age tv series, Andi Mack, will be returning for a third season.

The current cast of Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Lilan Bowden, Joshua Rush, Sofia Wylie and Asher Angel all found out the news while on ABC’s Good Morning America yesterday.

Marsh said, “A series about a girl discovering that her sister is really her mother was new territory for Disney Channel, but Terri’s honest, authentic storytelling allowed our audience to connect deeply to these characters and their journeys of self-discovery. Disney Channel to Air First Gay Storyline on Season Premiere of 'Andi Mack'

Disney Channel is preparing to air its first gay storyline. 

Andi Mack's second season premiere will feature one of the show's main characters, Cyrus (Joshua Rush), beginning to realize he has feelings for a male classmate. 

The episode, which airs on Friday, shows Andi (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) sorting out her feelings for her classmate Jonah (Asher Angel), while Cyrus realizes that he, too, has feelings for Jonah. Cyrus confides in his and Andi's best friend, Buffy (Sofia Wylie), as he struggles to determine how to tell his new girlfriend. Buffy's reaction is intended to serve as a positive example for both children and adults.
