Wimsey finally meets Ann Doland, and through examining one of her paintings realizes that her ill-fated romance is the key to solving the poison murder of General Fentiman.
Lord Peter uses his powers of deduction and observation to unmask the real killer. Subtle clues will lead you as a viewer to the killer, but it does come as a surprise. What some people will do for love.
I love the suspense, mystery, but also the humour, Mr and Mrs Munns are comedy gold here, her reaction to his losing his rag is hilarious. Donald Pickering is terrific as The Doctor, a very strong performance indeed.
It's been a long mystery, but ultimately well worth the wait, it's so skillfully crafted, with a rewarding solution, talk about justice, it's interesting to see just how tough the amiable Lord Peter is, a terrific ending.
Engaging drama. 9/10
