Peter Larkin Dies: Four-Time Tony-Winning Production Designer Was 93
Peter Larkin, whose innovative set design graced Broadway productions and major films, died Monday at his home in Bridgehampton, New York after a brief illness. He was 93 years old and his death was confirmed by his stepson, screenwriter Wesley Strick.

Larkin won four Tony Awards and was behind the set design for such Broadway productions as Peter Pan, The Teahouse of the August Moon and No Time for Sergeants. His film resume was equally impressive, including Tootsie and Get Shorty.

Born in Massachusetts and raised in Boston by Pulitzer Prize winning historian Oliver Waterman Larkin, he attended Yale.

Larkin’s Broadway debut came with Henrik Ibsen’s The Wild Duck in 1951. That led to his big break, the Broadway show of Peter Pan with actress Mary Martin. The show was so successful it immediately went to television within five months, setting a television record for the time with 65 million viewers.

Audrey Hepburn movies: 15 greatest films, ranked worst to best, include ‘Roman Holiday,’ ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s,’ ‘Sabrina’
Audrey Hepburn would’ve celebrated her 90th birthday on May 4, 2019. The Oscar-winning actress only appeared in a handful of movies before her death in 1993 at the age of 63, but many of them remain classics. In honor of her birthday, let’s take a look back at 15 of her greatest films, ranked worst to best.

Hepburn was born in 1929 in Ixelles, Brussels. Her family moved to the Netherlands in 1939 after Britain declared war on Germany, and when Hitler’s army invaded in 1940, they were forced to remain for another five years. Hepburn was affected by the occupation both physically and psychologically, witnessing atrocities and suffering from malnutrition when food became scarce. (She would owe her famously slim waistline to this.)

Young Offenders Review

  • TheMovieBit
It's rare to have the words "Breath of fresh air" associated with Irish film. Not to say that the Irish film industry is a pile of junk. Far from it. But alot of the time Irish movies are steeped in misery, zombies and more misery. Peter Foott's Young Offenders is genuinely something different. In fact, the movie is so refreshing, it's genuinely one of the best Irish movies for years! Set around a massive, 440 million euro cocaine haul in 2007 in West Cork, two teenagers, Jock and Conor set off on a road trip to claim a bale of coke worth 7 million! Coupled with a bike obsessed Garda (a Cop for our american readers), a local psycho and an alcoholic farmer as well as a nail gun wielding drug dealer, this is quite the road trip. Not since Neil Jordan's Ondine has there been a better advertisement for West Cork.
