  • Nia is quoted in saying, "I did the first 14 episodes, and they decided that they wanted a less-mature voice to be the 15-year-old daughter. That's the way it goes."

  • Simply put, Seth didn't think a Quagmire spin-off would work.

"{Quagmire} is not a guy you want to invite into your home on a weekly basis" - Seth MacFarlane

"We felt Cleveland was a more dimensional character, he's a guy who actually has some redeeming qualities and Quagmire has none. I don't think anybody wants to watch a sitcom about a rapist." - Seth MacFarlane

from Playboy September 2009: "We've been asked why Quagmire didnt get his own show. Quagmire works as an ancillary character. Hes an utterly despicable human being, someone who doesnt have enough of a wholesome streak to be a leading character."

"Cleveland is much more soulful and dimensional. It truly feels like what it was intended to be: The Jeffersons to Family Guy's All in the Family" - Seth MacFarlane

In the episode "To Live and Die in Va." it was shown why he didn't get the spinoff when they did a cutaway gag of a "The Quagmire Show" and the mock intro consisted of him saying "giggedy" several times and making sexual remarks. Edit

  • It was stated in an interview with The Cleveland Show creators that the reason Cleveland Jr. has become so fat is because he has started to go through puberty. This is likely the cause of his poor eyesight as well. He likely got glasses sometime between early childhood and adolescence. Edit

  • My name is Cleveland Brown, and I am proud to be

right back in my hometown, with my new family

There's old friends and new friends, and even a bear

Through good times and bad times, it's true love we share

And so I found a place, where everyone will know

My happy mustached face, this is "The Cleveland Show (2009)"

    [Cleveland Brown, Sr. laughs]

In the first episode of the first season, instead of the last line being "My happy mustached face, this is "The Cleveland Show (2009)," the line went "My happy black guy face, this is "The Cleveland Show (2009)." Edit
