Christmas Crunch: Frito-Lay Bets on Anna Kendrick to Catch Holiday Snackers
Anna Kendrick’s newest role puts her through what may be some of the most delicious torture of her career.

Kendrick, known for films like “Up In The Air” and “Pitch Perfect,” recently found herself on the set of a three-day shoot surrounded by bowls, bowls and bowls of chips, popcorn and other salty snacks that she could not touch, let alone taste. “They have everything so artfully arranged,” Kendrick told Variety from the set in late October. “I’m not allowed to eat anything, and it’s horrifying.”

While this project had some of the trappings of a blockbuster film, chances are most people won’t see it in movie theaters. Kendrick was in the midst of filming a massive two-minute commercial for treat-maker Frito-Lay, and her efforts are no doubt as important to executives at that PepsiCo-owned company as her next choice of film might be to

Batman Calls Out George Clooney in New DC Comic: He Owes Me

Batman Calls Out George Clooney in New DC Comic: He Owes Me
It's been over 20 years since George Clooney played Bruce Wayne in the disastrous 1997 superhero sequel Batman & Robin. And DC Comics still hasn't forgiven him for his performance. The latest issue of Detective Comics #1009 calls out the iconic actor, with Bruce Wayne himself addressing Clooney as someone that still' 'owes him'.

George Clooney has never really forgiven himself, either, for appearing in the movie and has publicly apologized for his participation in the Joel Schumacher directed disaster more than once. But it's always good joke fodder. And a little meta to see the real Bruce Wayne winking and nodding at the acclaimed Oscar-winning filmmaker and actor.

No one will probably be offended that Batman and those good folks at DC Comics decided to take a moment out of their story to jibe Clooney. And they don't necessarily take a dig at the guy's acting, as Batman suggests to an associate

Despite her performance being heralded throughout the show’s five-season run (2013-18), she was never again recognized by Emmy voters. Until now.

Farmiga’s current nomination comes for taking on the role of Elizabeth Lederer, the real-life prosecutor who was responsible for sending the Central Park Five to prison in 1989. Will Noah Centineo be the next heartthrob to win Breakthrough Performance at the MTV Movie and TV Awards?

The MTV Movie and TV Awards are voted on by fans online, which is usually good news for teen idols with passionate fan bases. This year that could benefit Noah Centineo, the 23-year-old heartthrob who appeared on “The Fosters” for three years but broke through in 2018 and 2019 thanks to the Netflix rom-coms “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” “Sierra Burgess is a Loser” and “The Perfect Date.” He’s nominated for Best Breakthrough Performance for “All the Boys.” Is he bound to win?

Lots of young heartthrobs have won this award in the past, including James Van Der Beek (“Varsity Blues”), Orlando Bloom (“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”), Zac Efron (“Hairspray”) and Robert Pattinson (“Twilight”). And the fact that Centineo has had such success on a platform like Netflix might also help him since that streaming service has such a wide reach and

TV Review: George Clooney’s ‘Catch-22’

  • Variety
TV Review: George Clooney’s ‘Catch-22’
Only television could contain “Catch-22.” Joseph Heller’s capacious World War II novel, stuffed with philosophical monologues, paradoxes, and a wide-ranging cast of expendable flyboys centered on the inertly gloomy Yossarian, provides little foothold for any potential reworking. A 1970 feature adaptation was so fraught that a Time cover story on the director quoted him as saying he was “pregnant with a dead child” during production. George Clooney’s new attempt, streaming on Hulu May 17, signals the star’s ambition, and his pragmatism. The archetypal movie star executive produced the series, appears in it, and directed two episodes, and he has come to TV for a reason: It’s a way to surmount a tricky piece of the American literary canon, but to do so with the benefit of six hours and streaming-service money.

But if only TV could make “Catch-22,” perhaps only TV would be foolhardy enough to try. The

George Clooney movies: 15 greatest films, ranked worst to best, include ‘Up in the Air,’ ‘Michael Clayton,’ ‘The Descendants’
On May 6, 2019, double Oscar winner George Clooney will celebrate his 58th birthday. The actor has become one of the most successful people in his profession but despite family connections (his aunt was the late singer Rosemary Clooney), he struggled for years to make it as an actor.

After dropping out of college, Clooney would try his hand at acting. He struggled for a few years until finding a part on “E/R” in 1984. This wasn’t the “ER” that would make him a star 10 years later, but instead was a short-lived sitcom with the same name. In the decade between those shows, Clooney became known mostly for his track record of starring in an incredibly large number of pilots that weren’t picked up to be made into series. He would score a few successes with recurring roles on “The Facts of Life,” “Sisters” and “Roseanne,” but he would also
