The ladies have pooled their last three weeks' salary to send Greta (Lori Nelson) to Palm Beach in hopes of landing a rich husband. At dinner her steak is accidentally switched with the steak of a wealthy man named Vince (well utilized comedy straight man Peter Leeds) who she quickly falls for. She sends a message to Mike (Merry Anders) and Loco (Barbara Eden) that she "desperately needs at least $200 to stay here long enough to land him." They're broke too, however. Loco comes across nightclub musicians Lennie (villain character actor Theodore Marcuse), Dave (Alan DeWitt), and Frank (Art Lewis) looking for an apartment to rent. They decide to sublet the apartment for $200 with their schedules seemingly lined up to never be there at the same time. When Vince is called back to his office in New York, Greta returns with him. She can't impress him with the penthouse with the musicians in tow. The ladies have spent their sublet money, however, and face a conundrum in how to get rid of their new tenants.
