The film was designed to be a tribute to Gothic art and the Ghost story genre (film and literature), thus all the characters in the film are named after authors and directors of Ghost stories. Jane Jackson is named after Shirley Jackson, author of The Haunting, Carl Wise was named after director Robert Wise, director of the film adaptation of The Haunting, and Henry Wingrave is named after Henry James and the title character of James' ghost story Owen Wingrave. This movie contains a certain ambiance that captivates you, considering this movie is done with practically no budget its very good and an homage to old ghost story movies. There are some interesting ideas in there and also it containing more than one story keeps thing interesting. When it comes to the acting we see some good performances throughout the movie, the music is very good and it really puts you in the mood for the movie, creepy and slow. This is a different type of movie that not all people will like since it has a very specific style that you will either love or hate, but you have to admire what director Ahmed Khalifa is trying to do, this is something that has never been done before and a step forward for Egyptian cinema that hasn't produced a decent movie for more than 20 years.
