Jerusalem: A city of contrasts and conflicts, where Arabs, Jews, Christians and Muslims all mix but seldom mingle. This is where David, a young Israeli Jew, and Fatima, a beautiful Palestinian Muslim girl, meet and fall in love. But in a volatile land that is steeped in tradition and soaked in blood, their love is forbidden. Despite their best efforts to keep their romance a secret, their friends and families find out the truth, and their reactions are swift and violent. David and Fatima must act quickly to avoid losing each other forever. Willing to risk all for the sake of love, they elope in a land where marriage between them is impossible and the consequences of being together - deadly. Worth seeing and discussing
16 July 2008 | by boneman4See all my reviews

At first, one assumes it's another trite version of the Montague/Capulet saga;yet it immediately assumes a realistic event because the story could be 100% true when one considers the Arab-Jewish relationship that currently exists in that small country. The excellent actors are largely not known(except for the terrific cameos portrayed by Martin Landau and Tony Curtis),and though by and large American, are able to portray credible Palestinians and Israelis of modern times. The young actors playing the star crossed couple are a beautiful pair. This motion picture is well worth seeing albeit a bit intense for the under thirteens.
