MPAA Rated PG-13 for some violence including disturbing images, and for language

Sex & Nudity

  • A man is shown bare-chested.
  • A man kisses a woman briefly; later, they have a longer kiss.
  • A woman wears a short skirt that reveals part of her leg above the knee but she's wearing black tights.

Violence & Gore

  • A man punches another man in the face, and he has blood on his face. A woman says she thinks his jaw is broken.
  • A man has some bloody scrapes, cuts, and abrasions on his face and hands after jumping from a moving train, hitting the ground and rolling/bouncing repeatedly.
  • A man holds another man at gunpoint, but the man being threatened shoots him several times in the chest, and then shoots a woman near them. The man who was short slowly dies, and his bullet holes can be made out.
  • A train explodes several times during the movie. A "fire ball" travels through the train car. Twice, we see a body being consumed by flames in very slow motion, in one instance a woman's face distorts a la "The Scream". Very brief. No "melting" of features, though.
  • Two men get into a fist fight near train tracks, and one of them kicks the other onto the tracks. A train goes by and hits him, but the scene cuts before the impact.

  • 1 use of "f**k" , 6 uses of 'shit', 1 use of 'dick', 9 uses of 'damn' (3 paired with "God"), 3 uses of 'hell', 3 uses of 'asshole', 2 uses of 'Jesus', 1 use of "oh my God".
  • 8 Scatological Terms
  • 5 Anatomical Terms

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • None. Unless you consider coffee a drug (stimulant).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Very suspenseful and action packed. No where near as frightening as it could have been. Not gore-filled. (It helps that the term, "everything is going to be alright" is repeated several times throughout the movie, by different characters.)
  • The whole film has an intense feel and sense of urgency, as well as a sense of mystery.
  • The parking lot and van scene is pretty intense.
  • The bombing scenes can be intense, especially for younger viewers.
  • The taser scene is intense.
  • The fight scene by the tracks is somewhat intense.
  • The bomb disarming scenes are intense.

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A human body is seen cut up in half and that could be very disturbing for young viewers (mentioned below).
  • A man and woman are seen dying/dead on the ground with a pool of blood around her head after being shot; a tear trickles down from her eye and she blinks it once or twice but is otherwise unmoving (mentioned above).
  • We see a dead body with missing limbs, the lower half of his body gone (ends at an angle, from bottom of ribs on one side to hip on other side) & his intestines & spinal cord are encased in a clear shield, which is hard to see through. In another scene, you see an extremely brief close up of his face & head, but his skull cuts away towards the back & much of his his brain is showing. It is not grey in color, but reddish-pink, with electrodes attached to it.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The sight of the dismembered body of a man on life support may be disturbing to younger viewers.
