Garrett ruins Gold Hill's benefit Fourth of July show by stealing all the fireworks from Murphy'''''''s barn. He puts them in his saloon safe. A comical old safe cracker, an escaped convict, befriends Murphy and the kids and liberates the firecrackers.

The final fireworks scene, although beautiful, is problematic. The fireworks caught on fire on the ground floor of a two story building. So they could not shoot out the top of the building like the scene shows, *unless* the 2nd story floor AND roof had burnt down - which obviously there is little fire. It would have been more realistic if the fireworks had been stored in a shed, and then they shot out of that shed. See more
