Apple TV+ Has Announced its Release Date, Low Monthly Price, and a Line-Up of Series

We finally have the major details on the brand new streamer Apple TV Plus, and it’s sounding pretty good. The service is set to premiere on November 1st and will cost customers $4.99 per month. Or it could cost nothing at all for one year for anyone who purchases an Apple device during the introductory period. That’s a pretty great deal if you are planning on getting a new phone or other Apple product soon anyway. But even if you aren’t, $4.99 is pretty competitive, and I’m liking the looks of the Apple TV Plus lineup, so I’m pretty much sold on the streamer either way.

Here’s the list of the series and films that will be available on the premiere date:

The epic drama starring Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard is set 600 years in the future after a virus has decimated humankind and rendered the remaining population blind.

Fortnite On Nintendo Switch Could Be Getting An Exclusive Event

Fortnite‘s global reach and marketing power are not to be underestimated. The battle royale, which has been in service now for well over two years, is available on nearly every video game platform under the sun. Combined with an install base of players numbering in the millions, it’s hardly any wonder that its contemporaries want in on the action. Such collaborations often materialize in the form of crossover events and in its relatively short life, Fortnite has already played host to a dizzying number of them.

From Marvel’s box office heavyweight Avengers trilogy to the action-thriller John Wick series, it’s safe to say that, at this point, Epic Games can forge a partnership with anyone it desires. So far, all of these limited-time affairs have been accessible to any player regardless of the platform but that could all be about to change. As per the combined efforts of Fortnite data-miners Hypex,

Latest Fortnite Patch Brings Back A Fan Favourite Location

Fortnite patch v10.20 has gone live for all platforms, bringing with it an electrifying new gadget as well as drastic changes to Battle Island. As leaked earlier this week, the battle royale’s so-called Zapper Trap is now obtainable in-game, giving fans of indirect and strategic combat more tools to play with. Functioning as a thrown consumable, deploying a Zapper works a little differently to other traps. First and foremost, this gadget has the uncanny ability to automatically build a wall on which to mount itself and will cover both sides of any surface it’s planted on.

As for its properties once the swift 1-second build time is completed – the device does exactly what it says on the tin. Opposing players who stray too close to the Zapper’s domain will be electrocuted for 50 damage if they don’t move out of harm’s way fast enough. To avoid taking any further jolts,

Fortnite V10.20 Patch Brings A Borderlands Crossover

Season X has been a bit of a bumpy ride for Fortnite. Most of this has centered on the introduction of B.R.U.T.E.s, powerful mech suits that players have almost unanimously agreed have ruined the game’s balance. After much consternation, Epic finally nerfed them in a recent stealth patch. The jury’s still out on whether this will completely fix the problem, but right now, it at least seems to have made things a little better.

In addition to that, Epic has also just announced the latest patch (v10.20) for Fortnite, which features a promotional crossover with Borderlands 3. Entitled Fortnite x Mayhem, the patch brings a bunch of Borderlands-related content to the game, with the most prominent being the Pandora Rift Zone. This can be found at the oasis near Paradise Palms and recreates a small slice of the Borderlands setting within Fortnite.

Rob Leane Aug 27, 2019

Under the title Fortnite x Mayhem, Borderlands content has arrived in Fortnite...

Epic and Gearbox have revealed "Fortnite x Mayhem," a special event that sees elements of the Borderlands universe popping up in Fortnite. The event is live now, and it is surely intended to build hype for the launch of Borderlands 3 on Sept. 13.

"The unprecedented Fortnite x Mayhem event creates the kind of chaos that gives Psycho Bandits their name," the official webpage for this surprising crossover tells us. "Get ready to drop into the Pandora Rift Zone, rock a full set of Psycho cosmetic gear, and unleash your anarchic artistry with the Pandora Prefab."

Here's the official trailer for Fortnite x Mayhem...

Epic Responds To Backlash Over Fortnite Season X’s B.R.U.T.E. Mech

At its core, Fortnite is a game intended to be enjoyed by everyone. As the battle royale grows older, however, those players who have been repeatedly air-dropping onto Battle Island have accrued a wealth of experience on the battlefield. Naturally, that means the skill gap between the very best and new and/or less-talented players will inevitably grow as the months and years progress. For Epic, one of the primary missions it has is ensuring that such a division never grows too wide and that fresh-faced newbies still have a solid chance at scoring an adrenaline-filled victory.

Long story short, this is the design philosophy ultimately responsible for the introduction of Season X’s B.R.U.T.E. mech and the subsequent reason why Epic has no intention of removing it from play. Finally addressing the elephant in the room in a blog post released yesterday, the developer provides

Fortnite Players Want Season X’s B.R.U.T.E. Mech Removed From The Game

Fortnite Season X is now officially in its second week of operation and so far, its time-bending shenanigans appear to have gone down a treat with Battle Island regulars. Beginning with the celebrated return of fan favourite location Dusty Divot a fortnight ago, Epic has steadily continued to reveal its game plan for Season 9’s successor in subsequent patch updates. The latest of those, released just a few days ago, brought unexpected changes in the form of a new Rift Zone.

This time around, it’s Neo Tilted that’s been affected by their time-altering properties, whisking players who venture too close away to an Old West version of the city from the past. In this particular instance, the usual rules of engagement change drastically, forcing you to adapt and strategize anew. Perhaps best of all, however, is the prohibition of a certain vehicle from crossing through time.

As it turns out,

Here’s Your Cheat Sheet For Fortnite Season 9 Week 4 Challenges

Fortnite Season 9 is now in its fourth week of operation, meaning a slew of brand new challenges has arrived to test your knowledge of Battle Island. By now, hardcore players will likely be intimately familiar with new Points of Interest Neo Tilted and Mega Mall but even if you’re a fresh-faced newbie, fear not – there’s no shortage of resources to help you get acquainted with Fortnite‘s popular progression system.

As always, the challenges accompanying this reset are split down the middle between free and Battle Pass exclusive and, as luck would have it, the majority this week should be a walk in the park. Instead, Epic is requiring that you don your finest attire for a session or two of spontaneous dancing. Similarly to prior staged challenges, you’ll need to bust a

Why the Memorial Day Box Office Isn’t What It Used to Be

Why the Memorial Day Box Office Isn’t What It Used to Be
Once upon a time, Memorial Day weekend was circled on every movie theater chain’s calendar as a critical weekend, marking the start of the summer blockbuster season with the release of films what would end up on end-of-year top 10 box office charts.

But, while still potentially a good spot to release a hit film, Memorial Day is no longer the pivotal moneymaker it once was. Back in 2013, a Memorial Day weekend combined record was set with “Fast & Furious 6” leading the box office to $314 million. But since then, there hasn’t been a weekend that has ranked among the top five in Memorial Day box office history. The highest combined gross for the holiday in the past five years is 2014, when “X-Men: Days of Future Past” was the No. 1 film and $231 million was the final count.

This last weekend, Disney’s “Aladdin” had a strong opening with a $116 million 4-day weekend.

Fortnite's Avengers: Endgame Mode Pays Tribute to Stan Lee

Rob Leane Apr 26, 2019

The Avengers: Endgame content in Fortnite is live now and it includes an iconic Stan Lee catchphrase...

Fortnite's Avengers: Endgame content has gone live, under the title Fortnite: Endgame. Among all the action-packed excitement and character-themed items, Epic Games has snuck in a tiny tribute to Stan Lee. The late, great mastermind behind many Marvel Comics heroes is referenced through one of his famous catchphrases, "Excelsior!"

The new Marvel crossover content is described thusly in the official summary: "Drop in with your squad, search for the Avenger’s items and take the fight to Thanos! Can you eliminate Thanos and his army before the last Infinity Stone is found? Or will he complete the Infinity Gauntlet and pick up a Snap Royale?"

This new game mode lets you wield iconic weaponry from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Captain America's shield, Thor's Stormbreaker ax, and Iron Man's repulsor cannons.

Here Are All Of Fortnite’s Avengers: Endgame Ltm Challenges And Rewards

In case you hadn’t heard, Avengers: Endgame is out now in theaters in most territories, at long last bringing the Infinity Stones story arc to an end. The momentous occasion that it is, Fortnite developer Epic Games has, in collaboration with Marvel, been planning a special in-game event to coincide with the film’s release. Similar to Thanos’ surprise appearance on Battle Island last year to celebrate the release of Avengers: Infinity War, the maniacal supervillain is back, once more, to cause trouble, only this time things are a little different.

The aptly-named Endgame Limited-Time mode is available now for all Fortnite players and pits the forces of good and evil against each other in a winner takes all conflict. Those of you yet to jump in-game and experience the superpowered brawl should brush-up on the rules here before reading on, as we’ve got a whole host of

Everything You Need To Know About Fortnite’s Avengers: Endgame Event

That’s right folks, love him or hate him – Thanos has returned to Fortnite.

To celebrate the release of Avengers: Endgame, Epic Games has once again teamed up with Marvel to bring fans of both franchises the ultimate crossover event, though don’t expect things to unfold exactly like last time. Yes, the Infinity Stone-obsessed villain has returned to Battle Island’s shores to dish out a warped sense of justice, but this time, players have the means to fight back.

One of the primary complaints of Thanos’ limited-time appearance last time around was the near-impossible feat of defeating a player wielding the Infinity Gauntlet, and Epic certainly appears to have taken that feedback on board. Not only is all the superpowered fun confined to a brand new Limited-Time Mode, but players are given the choice of fighting for either the good or bad guys.

Borderlands 3 Will Be an Epic Store Exclusive

Matthew Byrd Apr 3, 2019

Borldands 3 is the latest game to skip Steam and join the Epic Store lineup.

The Epic Game Store just scored one of its biggest exclusives yet, as Borderlands 3 will be released for PC via the rapidly growing digital marketplace.

"At launch on September 13, Borderlands 3 will be available for PC exclusively through the Epic Games store," reads a press release from developer Gearbox. "Borderlands 3 will be available on additional PC digital storefronts in April 2020.”

"Additional PC digital storefronts" almost assuredly includes Steam, Gog, and Humble. As you may have already guessed, this news will have no effect on the console releases of Borderlands 3 as those versions of the game are set to be released through the usual channels on the day of the game's launch. Interestingly, this is one of the few times that a developer has confirmed the extent of their exclusivity via the Epic Game Store.

Latest Fortnite Leak Hints At New Respawn Van Mechanics

As the saying goes, competition breeds innovation and nowhere else is that truer than in the games industry. Despite managing to comfortably retain its crown as king of the battle royale following Apex Legends‘ launch, Fortnite fans have made note of several innovative features Respawn’s genre entry has introduced, most notably its lauded ping system. In lieu of that feature’s success, Epic has since introduced its own, albeit simpler, version as a means of providing alternative forms of communication, but that’s not the only component it seemingly plans to borrow.

The ability to respawn in any competitive multiplayer environment is hardly a novel idea, though, in Apex Legends‘ case, it’s the first battle royale to allow a second chance at life. Though there’s a strict set of rules that apply to the system – players must first secure the banner of a fallen comrade and carry

Latest Fortnite Update Adds Explosive New Boom Bow Weapon, Sniper Shootout Ltm

Fortnite Season 8 has already hailed the arrival of several new weapons and vehicles to shake up the battle royale’s metagame, but Epic isn’t quite done yet, it seems. Now that the developer appears to have finally settled on an appropriate balance setting for Season 8’s spherical Baller vehicle, focus on new content has been able to resume in the form of new weapons and gadgets for Battle Island regulars to make use of, including the addition, last week, of the pint-sized Flint-Knock blunderbuss pistol.

As one might expect, the latter boasts all the wackiness you’d imagine a Fortnite weapon would bring with it, but now it’s the turn of another traditional weapon to receive some modern-day improvements. Included with today’s v8.20 patch, the so-called Boom Bow can now be found via treasure chests and floor loot and promises to pack a punch in the right hands.
