Reel Life Entertainment and Phantom Films to produce Vikas Bahls next

Vikas Bahl's Queen went on to become a huge success. Now, the film has found a connection with his next movie and quiet an interesting one. Vikas is currently writing the script of this untitled film, which is a biopic on the Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar, who launched the educational initiative, Super 30. Super 30's website informs, that they hunt for 30 meritorious talents from among the economically backward sections of the society, and shapes them for India's most prestigious institution - the Indian Institute of Technology (Iit)."

Music director Pritam Chakraborty has been instrumental in creating the amazing music of the movies in the Hindi film industry. Think of the incredible sound of the songs of Life in a Metro, the hits of all three Dhoom films, and the brilliant tunes of Jab We Met. The Voice India Week 9: Live Shows

Saturday’s episode of The Voice India opened in style with host Karan explaining the new format of the ‘Live Shows’ round. Each of the 7 members in the 4 teams would be performing solo and trying their best to entertain the audience and impress the judges. Team Hr and team Mika would be performing on Saturday and team Shaan and team Sunidhi contestants on Sunday.

Back to the studio and the contestants from all four teams entered onto the stage followed by the four coaches who together sang ‘Om Shanti Om’ from Karz. It was then time for the live shows to begin! But before that, the audience were re-introduced to ex Voice India contestant Meet Jain (Meet was sadly eliminated during the Battle rounds) as he was in the ‘red room’ where he would be seen interacting with the contestants and their families throughout the episode.

Hollywood, indie film, TV & Bollywood stars to hit the Red Carpet and Liff Opening Night Gala!

London Indian Film Festival returns for its 6th year from 16 – 26 July with some of the most prestigious and thought-provoking new independent films from the Indian sub-continent.

The opening evening gala promises to be a star studded event that culminates in the premiere screening of Umrika, which stars Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi, Million Dollar Arm and Homeland). The first night of this cool film festival takes place at the historic art deco Cineworld Haymarket Cinema.

Expected attendees are Hollywood, indie film, TV and Bollywood stars including star Suraj Sharma and director of Umrika Prashant Nair. Also there will be Adil Hussain who has been seen in The Reluctant Fundamentalist, English Vinglish (Bollywood), Life of Pi, and Tigers and Umrika.

The amazing Konkona Sen Sharma (Indian national award Page 3, Omkara, Life in a Metro), whose films Saari Raat & Gour Hari Dastaan both will be screened at Liff this year will at the gala event.

Critically Acclaimed Actor Irrfan Khan’s career to be in the spotlight at London Indian Film Festival

Life of Pi. Paan Singh Tomar. The Namesake. Maqbool. From Hollywood to Bollywood, Irrfan Khan has grown from strength to strength. Born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Irrfan made his critically acclaimed debut in Bollywood as a main lead actor in 2005 with Rog. Before this, he acted in numerous TV soaps such as Sparsh and Bharat Ek Khoj. Gaining a scholarship at National School of Drama in 1984, Irrfan’s destiny was set for acting. Having achieved three Filmfare awards and a National Film Award, Irrfan has also been awarded the Padma Shri- the fourth highest civilian award in India.

Irrfan Khan will be attending the London Indian Film Festival and will be speaking about his life and his work with director Asif Kapadia on the 20th of July at the BFI, Southbank.

Monsoon Shootout to open London Indian Film Festival
Amit Kumar’s Monsoon Shootout will have its UK premiere as the opening night film of the 4th annual London Indian Film Festival (July 18-25).

Closing the festival will be the UK premiere of Bombay Talkies, which comprises four stories by directors Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap. The film explores 100 years of Indian cinema and features independent and Bollywood stars.

Other UK premieres at Liff include Pune 25, BA Pass, Oonga, Mapa, Life is Good and The Bright Day, Shahid, Tasher Desh (The Land of Cards) and Josh (Against the Grain).

Gyan Correa’s The Good Road will receive its international premiere and Pawan Kumar’s Lucia – Kammada cinema’s first crowd-funding film - will have its world premiere at Liff.

For the first time, the festival will go on tour to Bradford and Glasgow.

The centrepiece ‘In conversation’ event will take place at London’s BFI Southabnk on July 20 with actor Irrfan Khan talking

Comedy genre – A comfort zone for Sharman Joshi?

Veteran Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi has proven his acting abilities to us time and again with brilliant roles in movies like 3 Idiots, Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Life in a Metro and Rang De Basanti etc.
