Storyline

Mike and Gloria find that they are at odds with one another over the prospect of having a baby. Gloria sees a future with children but Mike doesn't want kids because he can't bear to bring a child into the world with all of the problems, both socially and environmentally. Gloria talks to Edith who encourages her that having children is a woman's function, but Gloria decides that she needs to be a person before becoming a mother. In the end, Edith is puzzled but Archie explains that the best method is to throw Gloria's birth control pills out the window, letting them work on The Jefferson's cat instead. Mike does not want children
15 December 2017 | by Jimmy_the_Gent4See all my reviews

Mike says that he does not want to bring children into this troubled, over crowded world but Gloria still wants a baby.

This starts off as Archie and Edith return from a funeral and Archie says the dearly departed was cremated. This leads to some jokes about cremation, with Archie saying that ashes were put in "one of those silver urinals". The discussion turns to kids should be grateful to their parents but Mike says the parents owe the kids an apology. This is a good episode which Gloria is given some funny lines. She tells Mike that he had once promised her a home and a family, and she says "Now I find out you meant MY home and MY family!"
