A doorwoman is found dead in the water tank of her apartment. All the evidence which are readily available points to a doctor who lives in the building. However, the man swears that he had nothing to do with the dead woman. The other case is of a man found dead on a playground in Washington Heights.
Did You Know?
The "dead woman in the water tower" scenario is based on an actual event and has been used for the basis of the horror movie Dark Water. In real life the woman rotted in the tower for over a week while the residents showered, cooked and drank from it. Foul play was not suspected. See more
At the episode open, tenants would not have noticed blood coming out of their water taps. Human beings have about 10 pints, or 1.25 gallons of blood in their bodies. The body in the tank is pictured as still bleeding out so the amount of blood in the tank would be less than that, while the tank is at least 18 feet tall by 10 feet wide, holding more than 9000 gallons. Diluting the blood to that extent would make it undetectable until decomposition affected the odor and taste. See more
