You don't notice the English accent
31 January 2017 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

Dick Powell's partner in Four Star Productions David Niven never did any westerns on the big screen, but he got to go west in a trio of episodes he did for the Zane Grey Theater. In this second of the three Niven plays a farmer who has his pistol stolen from him by a wild neighbor kid played by Malcolm Brodrick. The kid's father doesn't discipline him, but both find the father dead at the side of the road.

After which Niven tries to help out at the widow's place and Gail Kobe appreciates the help from Niven who is a widower. But Brodrick doesn't appreciate a little discipline in his life that Niven tries to bring. And deputy Chris Alcaide has a most unreasoning dislike of Niven.

Of course the truth comes out in the end which I won't reveal. Niven's trip west was worth the effort as he contributes a fine performance so much so that you don't even notice the English accent.
