This was filmed as the season finale (a two-hour movie special), but aired before "Stolen Lullaby", which ran the following week. Had the show been canceled at this point because of excessive violence (a major concern in 1994), William Prince would have been the villain in a series finale for the third time (after Starsky and Hutch (1975) and _"Search For Tomorrow" (1951)_.) During the high speed chase between Mitchell in his vehicle and Walker and Laredo in theirs, you can see when Mitchell smashes into some crates that they become stuck on his car's front grille and yet a mere second later in the next shot they are gone. See more »

A Uniquely Powerful Episode
30 October 2013 | by JohnLeeTSee all my reviews

This is a standout episode of the series and notable chiefly due to some incredible performances by two of the very finest actors ever to grace the small screen. Jonathan Banks is superb in what would be an otherwise less than noteworthy villain role. He gives his character depth and realism in a way that has been a trademark in his career. The other is the magnificent Stewart Whitman as an aging Ranger who is a friend of Norris. It is a performance of power, poignancy, and stunning perfection. These two gifted actors make for a very special two-part presentation that should not be missed by anyone who appreciates acting greatness.
