Sketches include a bar where one drinker finishes the sentences of the other, Percy and Cyril are at wedding, we go to the Klondyke Saloon in Alaska to see how they celebrate Christmas, there's an unusual oath in court, two yokels meet and have a chat, Ronnie tells us a story about two chaps who each bought themselves a rolls royce, and finally we see a Tale of Fantasy and Make Believe about an evil tree sprite called 'Pinocchio II - Killer Doll. The musical performance is by Elton John. Written by jem
The magic is very much here from the Two Ronnies, right at the end of the show's time, this Christmas special frafeatusome great moments, including Pinocchio. There is a performance of Candle in the wind by Elton John, though it isn't live, the but musical performance at the Klondike saloon is fine, and there are a few nice sketches like the Wright's. Best bit though is undoubtedly the Pinocchio sketch which is hilarious and wonderfully dark, Corbett is on top form as the creepy puppet. Sandra Dickinson and Lynda Baron are great fun too. I wouldn't say it's vintage, but still a great special. 7/10
