Episode 39 begins with Burt trying to end his relationship with Sally, but she refuses to go quietly, threatening to "get" him.Visiting Eunice and Dutch at their farmhouse,Jessica,Benson, and Billy are forced to pose as the owners(a neurosurgeon with wife and son),arousing the suspicions of a nosy policeman(Richard Stahl),who warns them about Dutch.Danny mourns for Elaine, but perks up at the thought of going after her two kidnappers armed with a gun, with Burt tagging along to keep him safe.Detective Donohue reports Chester's death, seen boarding a train before it later crashed, with his clothes and wallet found aboard. What they don't know is that Chester is still alive,in Toledo, dressed as a derelict because he'd been jumped and had his wallet and clothes stolen by the man who pushed him off the train. He regains his memory, only to have a fellow hobo(G.W.Bailey)knock him out to steal his expensive watch, again leaving him an amnesiac.
