Storyline

In 1985, Sam leaps into the body of soap opera Kyle Hart just as they are filming a scene. He is the star and plays a doctor on the show, the most popular soap in America. As part of a contest he has lunch with the winner, Norma Jean Pilcher, who seems to have difficulty differentiating between the real world and the world in the soap opera. In no time, he's forced at gunpoint into Norma Jean's van - with her husband Hank at wheel - heading to Millie's house, someone she describes as her mother. When he hears the reason why she's kidnapped him, he knows he has to get out of there. Al tells him however that the reports they've found indicate he'll be found with a shotgun blast to the head. Trivia

In the original history, Kyle Hart was found wandering around mountains 500 miles from California on May 18, 1985, two weeks after he was kidnapped by the Pilchers. He had been shot in the head with a shotgun and remembered nothing. See more »

Goofs

Immediately after Sam leaps in he looks around and assumes he's a doctor based on the hospital filming set. The only problem with this idea is that the cameras and crew are less than 10 feet away from the bed. He would have seen them when he grabbed the "patient's" chart at the foot of the bed. See more »

Quotes

Sam: You know what I have to do today? I have to go and have lunch with some woman, who won this... soap detergent contest!
Al: Oh. Well, look at it this way. At least you know she'll be clean!
